I used to be so strong, courageous, and independent. I held the hands of the fallen and pulled them back to their feet. I was indestructible. But this is very different. I am so confused and scared, so anxious. So scared… so scared of losing you? For some reason, it would appear that I need you. The very thought of you leaving makes my organs twist and my heart pound in agony. I don’t like this. This is dangerous. I feel so unstable, so needy; and I’m starting to feel like a burden. But why? Why am I, so self sufficient and independent, feeling like a burden? Because I am weakening. My dependency on you is destroying my strength, my very being.

I don’t even know this girl, this frantic, frightened, clingy girl. She’s fighting a fight that doesn’t need to be fought, out of fear. Except, she fights no more. So passive, so dismissive, so submissive.

She disgusts me.

They were right, they were all right. They saw it happening before I did.
